Job purpose

The General Manager oversees, upholds and determines the customer service and sales culture in the retail store. The General Manager is accountable for all aspects of the business, including compliance, managing sales performance and identifying sales opportunities; develops overall store strategies and tactics to achieve sales, service and operational goals; and ensures maximum sales and profitability by focusing on key business initiatives. The manager is the leader of the dispensary and is responsible for all aspects of team management and support.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Adhere to all company standards of conduct
• Responsible for all store opening and closing procedures
• Responsible for all cash handling procedures
• Train and develop top talent, and provide constructive feedback to help employees meet expectations and goals
• Lead, motivate, inspire and coach employees to create a customer-centric environment and a memorable, positive customer experience
• Build customer retention, foster strong relationships, and develop brand awareness and loyalty
• Deliver exceptional customer service by observing, listening, interacting and following up with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues
• Maintain excellence in all areas of compliance and uphold all state and local regulations; interact with state and local officials and provide records of compliance and inventory as requested
• Ensure the effective use of the information, tools and systems required to meet customer needs
• Recruit, hire and train all store employees in line with Human Resources policies and procedures
• Merchandising, operations, marketing, and execution of store and company standards
• Performance tracking and management of all employees in partnership with Human Resources
• Participate in networking and build positive relationships within the community
• Act as a change champion, initiating and supporting positive change and development
• Inventory management
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including inventory, employee and customer reporting, and packaging
• Responsible and accountable for store P&L and controllable expenses
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for employees and customers, including the sales floor, back room, offices and restrooms
• Attend quarterly manager meetings, ongoing education and professional development
• Staff scheduling
• Regular attendance is an essential function of the role
• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred
• At least 2 years’ experience in leadership, management, communication and training in a customer-centric sales environment
• Previous store management experience preferred
• Clean criminal record
• Able to obtain all required occupational licenses to work compliantly in the cannabis industry
• Reliable transportation
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Good planning, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to lead, delegate and motivate staff, and to stay composed under pressure
• Working knowledge of cannabis, and of local, state and federal laws and regulations that apply to it

Physical requirements

• Physical aptitude to perform the manual tasks required to manage the dispensary
• Sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, repetitive motions and carrying boxes

Reports to the Dispensary General Manager.

Job purpose

The Assistant Manager plays a critical role in the success and compliance of the dispensary. The Assistant Manager helps lead the operation and supports the General Manager in all managerial duties. The Assistant Manager upholds the company’s values and brand culture, making the customer a priority in every interaction. This position helps supervise daily operations, including compliance, inventory management, fulfillment, customer service and sales, and is responsible for opening and closing duties and supporting personnel management.

Supervisory duties

• Supervise all store operations and procedures during open hours when the Store Manager is not present
• Make sure scheduling needs are met, and adjust when team members need shifts covered
• Oversee opening and closing procedures daily
• Help the Manager make sure team members are trained, on track and doing their jobs correctly
• Hold employees accountable to the company’s processes, procedures and roles
• Regular attendance is an essential function of the role
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Able to obtain all required occupational licenses to work compliantly in the cannabis industry
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Leadership, assistant management, communication and training experience in a customer-service-centric retail environment preferred
• Previous assistant store management experience preferred
• Clean criminal record
• Reliable transportation
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Good planning, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to lead, delegate and motivate staff, and to stay composed under pressure
• Cannabis knowledge, and knowledge of New Jersey cannabis regulations

Job purpose

A budtender at Green Leaf Wellness Solutions is a critical part of the business and reports to the General Manager. This position needs a highly motivated person with excellent customer service skills to support daily dispensary operations, including sales, cash handling, inventory, customer service, regulatory compliance, customer communication and education, customer information management, and everything else needed to stay compliant with New Jersey cannabis laws.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Greet and check in customers while following all state and local compliance policies
• Actively listen to customers, help them find the right product, and make sure they have a positive, exceptional experience
• Educate customers on cannabis products and speak confidently about responsible use, proper dosing, and compliant storage and use
• Actively learn about our full range of cannabis products
• Be willing to learn, take direction, and meet the needs of the business and our customers
• Keep the workspace clean: sweeping, mopping, dusting and organizing displays
• Comply with all local, state and federal regulations
• Complete transactions with total accuracy in cash handling and compliance
• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications

• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
